Yanic Nys (°1976) is the owner of photostudio LOFT26 in Antwerp. During daytime the studio is rented to photographers and agencies, and in the nighttime it becomes his painting studio.

His selfmade paintingstyle with credits to photgraphy and graphical design gets inspired by regular daylife situations with modelsnapshots as a constant returning factor.

The - most of the time - sexy women are placed in a banal but very recongnizable context by adding details as a logo, traffic lights, a phoneboot, etc... Nevertheless the banality is exceeded by the glances of the portretted women, as if they try to make eye contact with the vierwer.

The size of each painting is chosen in relation to the subject. As this results in big sized paintings most of the time, Yanic Nys makes the frames and prepares the canvas all by himself to keep control the complete process by himself.
